Survivor 51 Tribes

Survivor 51 begins with 2 tribes — the first two-tribe start since Winners at War in Season 40. CBS announced the cast on August 26, 2026 without releasing tribe names or assignments, so neither is known yet. All 21 players are first-timers, filmed in the Mamanuca Islands, Fiji, premiering Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 8/7c on CBS.

What is confirmed

  • 2 starting tribes — down from the three tribes used in most recent seasons.
  • 21 castaways, none of whom has played before. No returnees, no former winners.
  • Names and rosters unannounced. CBS has historically revealed these in the premiere itself.

What two tribes means for your draft

Two tribes of roughly ten differ from three tribes of seven in one way that matters for fantasy: fewer tribes means fewer tribal councils before the merge, so early boots are rarer and a pick is likelier to survive long enough to score. It also means the losing tribe is a bigger group, so any single player's odds of going home on a given loss are lower. Spreading picks across both tribes hedges a cold streak from either.

This page updates with the real names and rosters the moment CBS releases them, and follows tribe swaps and the merge from there.
