The preseason read
Med students arrive pre-loaded with the two things that keep you off the bottom early: usefulness and stamina under sleep deprivation. The medical angle is real fantasy value in a way that is easy to miss — being the person who handles a cut or a heat-exhaustion scare is an alliance you don't have to negotiate for.
What to watch for
Puzzle-heavy challenges, and whether the tribe leans on them as the de facto camp medic.
Off the island
- 1At 24 she is the youngest castaway of the season.
- 2TCU biology '23 and a John V. Roach Honors College Laureate, now in her third year of medical school at TCU.
- 3She did Boy Scouts as a kid and names it as her survival-skills training.
- 4Back-to-back all-around intramural champion.
In Thien An's words
- Why she'll win
- “Coming in at 5 feet strong, I will be LURKING incognito-ly until it's time to strike.”
- What prepared her
- “Doing Boy Scouts as a kid (yes, Boy Scouts).”
