Rob quits, and it's so cringe

Rob spent the night after Tribal alone on the dark beach, nursing a foot nobody had heard about. Eric found him there and didn't buy a word. By morning Dr. Barry had found one tiny cut and no infection, nothing to pull him for. Rob asked about the risk anyway, then asked to go home, and slipped his idol to Carter on the way out.

Savu drew Carter at random to visit Toka, and Devin volunteered to go the other way. Each got the same note: there's an advantage at the other camp, and you can mutiny and stay. Devin took one look at rain-soaked Savu, found a Secret Extra Vote on the well's ladle with Sharonda, and went home. Carter turned the mutiny down, went hunting for oars Toka had already smashed, and missed the boat. He's a Toka now, holding Rob's idol.

While Mike kept Carter busy, Lewis went through his bag and found the clue: an advantage hidden in Toka's boat. Maggie got to the oar first, Brady got there with the machete, and the oar didn't survive. Brady found the Extra Vote and handed it to Maggie on a promise she'd vote with him. She kept the vote, and not the promise.

Eleven Toka, seven Savu, four Toka on the bench. Toka led through the wood shavings, the chained crate and the coconut hoist, then Jenna and Thien An stalled on the anchor puzzle. Cristian and Kristin put Savu's together with time to spare: immunity, four egg-laying hens, and a safe night for a tribe that just lost two players.

Camp Notes

Savu did not hide what it thought of Rob's exit. To his tribemates he had been fine for two days, right up until a vote went the wrong way, and then the foot became a medical issue. They told Jeff as much: the injury was the vote, not the foot.

Tribal Council

Toka went to its first Tribal since the premiere with eleven players and two sides that each believed they had the numbers. Devin, Brady, Jelly, Mike and Patt had five votes for Kilby, the player they saw as the tribe's schemer. Kilby, Thien An, Jenna and Maggie had four, and started on Mike until Thien An argued that Mike would still be an easy target later and Patt would not.

That left the two newest arrivals in the middle. Lewis, who joined Toka from Exile in Episode 2, and Carter, stranded on Toka by the mutiny, were the swing votes. Keep the five together and they sat at the bottom of it; split it and they decided the game. Before Tribal, Kilby told Devin something Devin did not buy, and Devin's verdict became the episode title: "What I'm smellin' is stinky."

Lewis and Carter wrote Patt. The vote was 6–5: Carter, Jenna, Kilby, Lewis, Maggie and Thien An on Patt; Brady, Devin, Jelly, Mike and Patt on Kilby. Nobody played Carter's idol or either Extra Vote.

Patt Cannaday is the third person voted out of Survivor 51, blindsided from the majority alliance. Earlier in the episode Rob Antonson quit on Day 6, after medical found nothing wrong with his foot, and handed his idol to Carter on the way out. Her exit: "I don't even want a cheeseburger, I kinda just want revenge."

Fantasy fallout: two castaways left and both cost every tribe holding them. Rob's night is −10 (−8 for the quit, −2 for the medical visit), and a crown never softens a loss. Patt takes −5 for the blindside. Savu's seven each banked +3 for immunity, and Cristian and Kristin add +3 each for solving the puzzle. Devin is the week's top scorer at +8: the journey to Savu, an Extra Vote found there, the title line, and no votes against.

THREAT INDEX

After Episode 3
BIGGEST TARGETS
1
Danny "Kilby" Kilby
Kilby

Took five votes and survived only on Lewis and Carter. Devin warned Savu about him too. A swap scatters his four, not his enemies.

2
Mike Pinsky
Mike

The minority's first choice this week, kept only because Thien An called him an easy target for later. Later starts at the swap.

3
Eric Macksoud
Eric

Took four votes in Episode 2 and lost Rob, his closest ally, on Day 6. The first name Savu reaches for when it loses.

MOST LIKELY TO SURVIVE
1
Carter Krull
Carter

Holds Rob's no-conditions idol, swung the 6-5 vote, and has friends on both beaches heading into a swap.

2
Sharonda Cox
Sharonda

Runs Savu with Linnea, and the Helicopter Alliance gives her Devin and Ori across tribe lines. That matters in a swap.

3
Lewis Kelly
Lewis

Decided Toka's vote as a Swinger and is nobody's first target. Exile, then the middle: so far he has made both work.
