Drop Your Buffs: Three Tribes

Seventeen castaways, three buffs. Toka and the new hot-pink Dina drew six each, and Savu got five: Jeff had planned the swap for eighteen, and Rob's quit left the count one short. Dina started on a new beach with a pot, a machete and flint.

Dina Wins Its First Challenge

Dina Wins Its First Challenge

Fill the bucket with ocean water, pass it down the line, then roll a ball through a spinning maze. Dina got there first and won immunity and a coffee kit in its first challenge as a tribe. Eric sat out to even the numbers.

Toka Drops the Ball and Is Still Safe

Toka's ball popped out of the maze at the finish. Jeff ruled the maze finished anyway, which gave Toka second place, safety and a pitcher of iced coffee, and sent Savu to Tribal. Thien An sat out.

Kristin Feeds Toka

The only old Savu on the new Toka, playing on a foot with broken bones, went into the trees and came back with food. Most of the tribe was grateful. Carter called it buttering him up.

The Lover Boys

Kilby got a tribe without any of the five who wrote his name last week, and a new best friend in Eric. They called it a bromance and named themselves the Lover Boys. Sharonda watched it with a wary eye, and Eric had to talk her round.

Camp Notes

Savu

The new Savu inherited the chickens and ate one before Tribal. Ori and Jelly spent the day together hunting for heart-shaped shells, and Devin was, by every account, a poor wingman.

Tribal Council

The swap left Savu with five: three old Tokas in Devin, Jelly and Ori, and two old Savus in Alexis and Jenna. That was a 3–2 split before anyone said a word, and Savu was the one tribe without a spare player to sit out. It lost the bucket-and-maze challenge to Dina and Toka and went to Tribal first.

Jenna's way in was the old Toka majority. When Alexis pitched her a "Revenge of the Nerds" pair of old Savus, Jenna took it straight to Devin and Jelly. It didn't save her. Devin had been after her since the premiere, and the three Tokas only needed one more vote. Alexis gave it.

The vote was 4–1: Devin, Jelly, Ori and Alexis on Jenna, and Jenna on Alexis. Jelly never needed the idol nobody on her new tribe knows she has.

Jenna Doore is the fourth person voted out of Survivor 51, and the fifth to leave counting Rob's quit. She thought she had bought her way in. "It doesn't feel great to get blindsided on Survivor," she said on the way out. "It really hurts."

Fantasy fallout: Jenna takes −5 for the blindside, and a crown never softens a loss. Dina and Toka's twelve each banked +5, immunity (+3) plus the coffee reward (+2), less one for Eric and Thien An, who sat out. Eric tops the week at +7: the line that became the episode title was his (+3). Devin, Jelly and Ori bank +3 from the vote (+2 for the blindside, +1 for no votes against). Alexis nets +1 after taking Jenna's vote.
