Tribal Council
Savu lost its third straight immunity challenge, and this time there was nobody left on the beach who was not the Helicopter Alliance. Devin, Jelly and Ori had voted together since Day 1. One of them had to go.
Ori knew the math and went after it all day: Jelly, turn on Devin; Devin, play for yourself. Devin admitted the pitch flipped his brain. Then Jelly settled it at Tribal. She said she had an idol and would use it, and that she could not write Devin's name even if it was the smarter move. Devin said the same about her.
With no votes to win, Ori played his Shot in the Dark. The scroll read Not Safe. He teared up before the votes were read, and Devin and Jelly voted him out 2–0. Jelly never had to play the idol, and Devin never used his extra vote. Ori Jean-Charles is the eighth castaway out of Survivor 51, and the first man voted out after six women in a row. In his final words he said he came to retire his mother and failed; Jeff told him how you play is the measure, and Ori played it to the last minute.
Fantasy fallout: Ori takes −3 for the vote and −2 for the tears, with +1 back for the summit trip. Jelly and Devin get +1 each for a Tribal with no votes against them. Every castaway on Toka and Dina banks +3 for immunity, less −1 for the five who sat out: Mike, Carter and Thien An for Toka, Sharonda and Eric for Dina. Kristin adds +2 for the Tethered Idol and Sharonda +1 for the summit. Kristin and Eric share the best night of anyone still in the game at +5, his with +3 for saying the line that named the episode.
