Fourteen castaways are left in CBS's Survivor 51 after Episode 5, split across three tribes. Toka's six have the most loose ends, Dina is three original Savus against Lewis and Kilby, and Savu is down to Devin, Jelly and Ori, the core of the Helicopter Alliance. The live chart on our connections page shows every pair; this is the tribe-by-tribe read.
Why this is hard to follow
Survivor 51 has had a quit, a mutiny, an Exile return and a swap from two tribes into three, all in five episodes. Most of the 14 left have now lived on two beaches, so the alliances that mattered in Episode 3 are split across tribes. This is where things stand, using only what has aired. The connections chart draws every pair from the ballots and the episodes, and it updates every week.
| Tribe | Who | Started as |
|---|---|---|
| Toka (yellow) | Brady, Carter, Kristin, Maggie, Mike, Thien An | Four Tokas, two Savus |
| Dina (pink) | Cristian, Eric, Kilby, Lewis, Sharonda | Three Savus, two Tokas |
| Savu (purple) | Devin, Jelly, Ori | Two Tokas, one Savu |
Toka: six players, no Tribal yet
Toka has not been to Tribal since the swap, so nothing here has been tested by a vote.
- Carter and Thien An agreed to work together on the new beach in Episode 4. They have not agreed on who goes first: Thien An wants Mike, Carter wants Kristin. Carter is still holding the idol Rob gave him when he quit.
- Maggie has voted with Thien An at both of old Toka's Tribals, and with Carter on Patt. Her Extra Votes went to Dina: she armed Lewis and Kilby with an Extra Vote each in Episode 5. Our Linnea blindside breakdown walks through how.
- Brady and Mike are two of the five who voted for Kilby at Tribal 3 and lost Patt 6–5. The other two still in, Devin and Jelly, are now on Savu. Brady and Maggie are complicated: he let her keep the Extra Vote from the oar on a promise she'd vote his way, and she voted with the other side.
- Kristin is one of two original Savus here, with Carter. She is the name Carter has floated.

Dina: three against two, with no Extra Votes left
- Cristian, Eric and Sharonda are the tightest group in the game on the record: together on Ana in Episode 2, and together on Lewis through both of Episode 5's ties. Then they wrote Linnea's name rather than draw rocks.
- Lewis and Kilby are the old Tokas who survived it. They are tied to each other by the Linnea vote and to Maggie by the votes she gave them. Both Extra Votes are spent.
- The Lover Boys are in trouble. Kilby and Eric named their pair in Episode 4. In Episode 5 they voted on opposite sides twice, and it was Kilby's rock threat that made Eric give in.
- Lewis has three rivals on one beach. He pitched Sharonda a "blood idol" wedding ring; she asked where the paper was, and Cristian took the story apart.
Savu: the Helicopter Alliance, down to three
- Devin, Jelly and Ori voted together to send Alexis home 3–1. All three formed the Helicopter Alliance on the shared beach before the tribes were drawn.
- It is not an even three. Jelly has kept her idol from Devin because of how freely he talks, and Devin is holding a Secret Extra Vote he has not played. Jelly and Ori bonded early over lasagna.
- Savu's outside friend is on Dina. Sharonda is the Helicopter Alliance's fifth member, and she and Devin found his Extra Vote together when he visited Savu in Episode 3.

The cross-tribe lines to watch
- Devin and Kilby are the sharpest rivalry on our chart. Devin campaigned against Kilby at both camps and voted for him at Tribal 3.
- Brady and Kilby too: Kilby trash-talked Brady, Patt passed it on, and Brady wrote Kilby's name.
- Maggie, Lewis and Kilby are the alliance that just won a vote from two beaches apart.
If the tribes meet again, at a swap or the merge, those lines decide who has numbers. The alliances page lists every named group, and the current tribes page shows who is where.
Speculation
Dina is the tribe most likely to vote on old lines next: three original Savus, two original Tokas, and no advantages left on either side that anyone has shown. Toka is the hardest to read because it has not voted since the swap.
