Survivor 52 is confirmed: CBS renewed Survivor for Seasons 51 and 52 in January 2026, with Jeff Probst returning as host, and Season 52 is expected in early 2027 on Wednesday nights. Inside Survivor reported that it has already been filmed in Fiji's Mamanuca Islands with a cast of all new players, but CBS has not announced the cast, the theme or the premiere date. It has already been filmed. Inside Survivor reported in July 2026 that Season 52 had wrapped filming in Fiji's Mamanuca Islands, back to back with Season 51, as a 26-day game. The show has filmed in the Mamanucas every season since Millennials vs. Gen X.
The cast is all new players. Inside Survivor's answer to readers asking about returnees was a flat "all newbies."

That last point sits alongside something Probst has said on the record. Asked in a 2026 interview with TV Insider about returnees after Season 50, he said, "The chances are very good that you'll see more returning players sooner rather than later." If the reporting on Season 52's cast is right, "sooner" means a season after it.

The cast size and format. Survivor 51 opened with 21 players on two tribes. Nobody outside the show knows yet whether Season 52 keeps that shape or returns to the 18-player, three-tribe start that every season from 41 to 49 used.

What Survivor 51 decides for Season 52

One thing about Season 52 is being decided on TV right now. Survivor 51's coin flip carries over between seasons: if a player misses it this season, the $1 million rolls into Season 52's flip, which would then be worth $2 million and could take that winner's prize to $3 million.
