What are the new tribes on Survivor 51?
In Episode 4 the castaways dropped their buffs and the two tribes became three: Toka and Dina with six each and Savu with five. Dina is new, in hot pink, and started from scratch on its own beach.
How it works
- Everyone draws a new buff, so old tribes and alliances are split by the draw.
- Jeff had 18 buffs ready for three tribes of six. Rob’s quit in Episode 3 left seventeen, so Savu got five.
- Dina got a new beach with a pot, a machete and flint, and nothing else.
- The first challenge after the swap had two winners and one loser, so only one tribe went to Tribal.
So far this season
Dina won immunity and a coffee kit in its first challenge. Toka took second and safety. Savu, the five-person tribe with no spare to sit out, lost and voted Jenna out 4–1.
The fantasy angle
When a challenge has two winners, two tribes in three are safe, so a castaway on a strong new tribe can bank immunity points for several episodes straight. The smallest tribe is the danger: Savu is down to four after Jenna, with no spare body for a challenge.
