Romeo opened Survivor 42 strong on Ika, bonding with Drea Wheeler and Rocksroy Bailey and forming a skinny-guys pact with Zach Wurtenberger, then cutting Zach to stay in the majority. He and Drea ran the tribe, bouncing Swati Goel for playing all sides.
The merge flipped his fortunes. Drea froze him out of the new supermajority, and his push to take out Jonathan Young fizzled when Lydia Meredith went instead. Paranoia set in, Hai Giang wanted him gone, and Romeo survived mostly because others kept becoming bigger targets. Tribemates grumbled about his camp work, and he settled into the role of permanent decoy, throwing stray votes to guard against Shot in the Dark plays. Maryanne Oketch finally brought him in on her Extra Vote plan to blindside Omar Zaheer. Romeo then stunned Jonathan to win the final immunity, but sending him to fire against Mike Turner backfired when Mike won. The jury called him paranoid and passive, and he got no votes.
