Matthew's game on Ratu started with an hours-long coconut haul beside Brandon Cottom that won the tribe its camp tools and sealed their alliance. The next day he climbed a rock by the lagoon, fell, cut his foot and dislocated his shoulder. He played on in a sling and didn't slow down at all: a sit-out chat with Soka's Claire Rafson tipped him to Lauren Harpe's secret, he used his Shot in the Dark just to keep his vote hidden, and Brandon's idol sent Maddy Pomilla packing.
Then came the real tricks. Matthew found the re-hidden idol, planted a fake one for Jaime Lynn Ruiz to discover, and won her trust, earning a plant-themed nickname as her new ally. He solved a wall maze for an immunity win and bonded with newcomer Carson Garrett by sharing Jaime's secret. The shoulder finally gave out, and after a medical check he reluctantly chose to leave the game, idol still in his pocket.
