Known for
Dan never held back in confession, and on Worlds Apart his blunt takes on tribemates made him one of the season's most debated players. On Escameca he clashed early with Lindsey Cascaddan and felt the bottom approaching, but a bond with Mike Holloway steadied him, and after the swap they flipped Sierra Dawn Thomas to blindside Joaquin Souberbielle. At the merge his condescending pitch to fellow superfan Shirin Oskooi backfired, and he drew four votes on a night Hali Ford went home instead.
The Survivor Auction was his signature episode. A pact to buy letters from home fell apart when Mike reneged, the Blue Collars soured on Mike, and Dan outbid Mike and Carolyn Rivera for an Extra Vote. Later he talked it up at Tribal to take out Carolyn, which spooked her into playing an idol that wiped out every vote against her, and Dan went home. On the jury he scolded Mike, accepted his apology, and after much agonizing voted for him.
