Clay went last in the Schoolyard Pick and insisted his tribe had found a hidden gem. Chuay Gahn mostly found a loud snorer with sharp opinions. He famously got grabbed by the throat and slammed into the water by Sook Jai's Robb Zbacnik in a reward challenge, a penalty that handed his tribe its first win. At Tribal he scrawled Denver Diva on his vote for Ghandia Johnson and earned a scolding from Jeff Probst over ballot nicknames.
After the merge he stayed locked in the Chuay Gahn Five, beat Ken Stafford for immunity, and was spared even as Helen Glover and Ted Rogers Jr. soured on his attitude and laziness. Brian Heidik steered the endgame, won the final immunity, and took Clay to the final two over Jan Gentry. The jury hammered Clay for loafing, but he still pulled Erin Collins, Ken and Penny Ramsey and lost only 4-3.
