Bruce Kanegai
The calm, rock-gardening glue of Panama's messy Casaya tribe, whose game ended in a medical evacuation.
Known for
Bruce began Panama on La Mina, then was the last one standing in the Schoolyard Pick and got shipped to Exile. He joined a struggling Casaya and immediately made camp better, becoming the tribe's steadying presence. He was not always Zen: a rare flash of temper over his rock garden, built while the others struggled with fire, started a shouting match with Aras Baskauskas, and Aras and Shane pushed to vote him out. Danielle DiLorenzo rallied the women to keep him, and Bruce repaid Casaya by placing the first puzzle piece in a win.
At the merge Bruce designed the flag, named the tribe Gitanos, and survived an accidental machete strike from Nick Stanbury. La Mina's Terry even dangled his idol to get Bruce and Danielle to flip, and both stayed with Casaya. Then Bruce developed severe stomach pains, called for medical help, and was pulled from the game, a blow that deflated the whole camp. He recovered in time to sit on the jury and voted for Danielle.
